How difficult is the trip?

We are using a scale with four difficulty levels for our trips so you get a better idea of what to expect in terms of how strengthous a tour is.

Tip: our search function helps not only to find the right destination, but also your preferred level of difficulty. If you click on "Show more filters" you can choose your preferred character of the route.

Cycling tours:

Ideal for beginners. You prefer to cycle on flat routes. Well-established cycle paths, which have lots of good places to stop on, simply bring a smile to your face. You don’t actually get your bike out of the garage much at home, but you have the urge to give a cycling holiday a go!

Walking tours:

Ideal for beginners. For those who enjoy spending time in nature with plenty of time for activities off the route, such as places of interest and local cuisine. The terrain is mostly flat with easy routes on well-maintained and well signposted paths. Daily tour of ca. 3 to 4 hours.

Family holidays:

Ideal for beginners. These trips offfer a lot of fun adventures in a relaxed manner. Routes are easy and multi-activitities are diverse, but not demanding. Leisurely, bot not boring!

Cycling holidays:

You cycle every now and then or in good weather. For you cycling has to be fun and is not a method of fitnesss. Gentle hills or longer sections on gravel tracks however don’t pose too much of a problem for you. You keep pedaling along and enjoying what surrounds you.

Walking holidays:

Expect moderate walks on well-maintained walking paths without the need for any technical requirements. Daily walks with walking times of up to 5 hours (or a bit longer depending on your pace) with slight alterations in altitude. If you would like to enjoy these tours good health and a good basic fitness level is required.

Family holidays:

Eventful tours with lots of adventure. Sometimes with hills (when cycling or walking) or difficulties to overcome (during multi-activity holidays), but these can be achieved by everyone. Nothing to worry about if you are an outdoor person.

Cycling holidays:

One cycling holiday per year is a must for you! You are the prototype of our regular customer, who cycles at least once a week. You like to ride long, steep hills or rides with an undulating profile. In order to enjoy the rest of the ride, the route should also have flatter and more leisurely parts to recover from the fun in the hills.

Walking holidays:

The change in altitude and/or distances increases somewhat with tours of this category. You mainly walk on walking trails where surefootedness is needed, in some sections even a head for heights. Expect daily walking tours from 4 to 6.5 hours, including small summit ascents. For our level 3 a good fitness level is necessary in order to enjoy the high altitude paths and your holiday.

Family holidays:

You really enjoy the outdoors? Then this is your category. Trips with longer ascents (not always) and multi-activity holidays at a much faster adventure. Of course there is always enough time for a pause or two.

Cycling holidays:

At home you go for longer rides, you prefer to take the bike instead of the car and your decent level of fitness enables you to do this with ease. During your holiday you prefer the route to be hilly with numerous ascents during a day’s ride. With your fitness level you still have a smile on your face when checking in at the reception of your hotel.

Walking holidays:

Youl walk on Alpine mountain paths, rocky and from time to time on exposed trails on an altitude ranging from 1.500 m to 2.500 m. Surefootedness, a head for hights and a very good fitness level are essential. Daily tours can last up to 7 hours of daily walking time. Trekking experience is prerequisite for our self-guided individual tours. A good quality equipment is vital, since in parts there is no luggage transfer with overnight stays in chalets or cabins, so backpacks need to be carried by each individual.

Family holidays:

You are doing sports on a regular basis, you play football or another team sport. On tours with level 4 you are going up and down hills, multiactivity holidays are filled with lots of outdoor adventures. Of course there is also time to relax, besides all the action during your holiday.
