Itinerary

Pick up the rental bikes in Bergen.
Go by express boat to Sunde at 12.45 (not included in price). NB! There is no luggage transfer in Bergen, but the luggage is transported from Sunde to Rosendal. Bike from Sunde to Rosendal, 31 km.

Pick up rental bikes. Take the expressboat from Bergen to Sunde at 12:45 (not included). When arriving Sunde, the luggage will be picked up and transported to the hotel. Some climbing, and some traffic on this stage.

Go for a bike ride, or choose one of the many hikes in the area. You can visit the Manor House with the beautiful rosegarden, or the Stonepark. You can also visit the Folgefonn Centre to learn about the Folgefonn National Park, Hardangerfjord area and the environment in general, or you can visit the floating experience center Salmon Eye.

The road runs through lush farmlands, with lovely views of the Hardangerfjord. Cross the fjord by ferry. Some traffic. Evening welcome and storys at Haaheim at 18.00

We recommend biking a detour via the beautiful village Onarhamn, towards Hodnanes. Cross the fjord by ferry to Stord Island. Bike to Leirvik, a small city with a a varity of shops, museums, a gallery and harbour.

Bike from Leirvik via Fitjar to Sandvikvågen. Cross the fjord by ferry to Husavik, and bike to Bekkjarvik. Some uphill from Leirvik to Sagvåg, then easy cycling through a lush cultural landscape

We recommend spending some time in Austevoll before leaving for Bergen. There are several optional detours along the route to Hufthamar. The express boat (not included) arrive Bergen 15:50. The rental bikes will be picked up at the boat terminal upon arrival Bergen, where the tour ends.

Tour character

The cycling is generally easy, with mostly moderate distances and gently rolling terrain. However, some hills must be expected. The first stage between Sunde and Bergen can have some traffic, so extra attention is needed there. Apart from this section, the roads are usually quiet and pleasant to ride. There are cycle paths in and out of the larger towns, making it easier and safer to navigate near busier areas.
