Itinerary

Pick up the rental bikes in Bergen.
Go by train from Bergen to Voss, optional departure.

It is worth spending some extra time on Voss. Voss Gondol is open all year and takes you from the hotel/train station in Voss to Mount Hanguren (820 masl) in under nine minutes.
On the opposite side of Vangsvatnet Lake, you find Bordalsgjelet Gorge. This is a spectacular natural attraction within walking/biking distance from Central Voss.

From Voss, you start with some uphill to Skjervet, where you ride down the old road, past the spectacular Skjervsfossen Waterfall, to Granvin. From here you bike uphill, through Espelandsdalen, and continue down to the beautiful fruit village of Ulvik

Ulvik is nestled on the shores of the Hardangerfjord, offering visitors spectacular views of the deep blue waters and the surrounding mountains. This is a good place for relaxation or a day full of nature experiences.

- Bicycle tour to Osa, 20 km (round trip). Possibly further towards the mountain.
- Relax and enjoy the village and the hotel facilities.
- Visit one or more of the three remarkable cider farms in Ulvik.
- Go by boat from Ulvik to Eidfjord, and go on a bicycle tour from there. From Eidfjord, you can also join the Vøringsfossen Sightseeing Tour to Hardangervidda Nature Centre and Vøringsfossen waterfall.
- Hike to the local drop-in cabin Solhaug with a great view of Ulvik.

You start with a bike tour from Ulvik to Kinsarvik, 36 km.
From Ulvik you bike along narrow fjords, to the new and spectacular Hardangerfjord Bridge. The bridge offers an exciting trip across the fjord before continuing south to Kinsarvik.
You will meet more traffic between the bridge and Kinsarvik.

For those in good shape, it's nice to take a detour up the Husa Valley, with magnificent waterfalls and great hiking.

There are several alternative routes from Kinsarvik to Øystese:
- Boat from Kinsarvik to Norheimsund, bike from Norheimsund to Øystese, 7 km.
- Ferry from Kinsarvik to Utne, bike to Herand (23 km), boat to Norheimsund, bike to Øystese, 7 km
- Ferry from Kinsarvik to Utne and another ferry from Utne to Kvanndal, bike from Kvanndal to Øystese (34 km).

Start by biking past Norheimsund to Tørvikbygd, and from there; a nice ride along the fjord, to Gjermundshamn. Some minor climbs, but not much traffic.
Ferry crossing to the south side of the fjord and continue biking to the small village of Rosendal.

Rosendal offers attractions such as the Barony in Rosendal, the Stone Park with sculptures by Bård Breivik, Kvinnherad Church from 1255, and several art galleries.

Today's cycling route follows the fjord southward, passing through beautiful landscapes dotted with scattered buildings and offering scenic views. From Sunde, you have a lovely boat trip to Bergen, winding through the picturesque Sunnhordland archipelago, arriving in Bergen at 16:25.

Return rental bikes at the port in Bergen.
